Three nouns and three adjectives to describe yourself:

Goofy | Empathetic | Outgoing

Strictly Business

What do you like most about being a recruiter in the medical industry?

For me, recruiting Imaging techs is very personal. I have a congenital heart defect that has required care from cardiac sonographers and Cath/EP techs since I was five years old when I had my first ultrasound, and I was nine when I had my first heart catherization and received my first pacemaker.

Finding jobs for the types of people that have helped take care of me over the last 35 years, is really rewarding. Knowing that I am working with people that are going to be taking care of others like me is one of the biggest highlights of my job because I know how much these types of positions have impacted my life as well as the lives of friends and family.

What’s the best piece of professional advice you’ve ever received?

I really wanted to answer this question but found it tough to pick one piece of advice.

There are lots of topics out there but for me, I think “take it and make it your own” is one I got and have shared with dozens of other people. If I try to mimic how someone else does something, it may feel unnatural or come across as less genuine than if I put my own personality into it. I love teaching/mentoring others and know that during multiple conversations that phrase has been something I said when teaching/sharing/helping others.

Just for Fun

What’s something you’ve done, but will never do again?

Breaking the rules…I hope to do this again:

I enjoy cycling and two years in a row I did an 80-mile ride with my father-in-law. It was a themed ride that had nine stops that all had bacon available to be eaten while you took a break. My wife and a close friend did about 36 miles of the ride, and I am sure that my father-in-law is still shocked years later that I completed the ride (I’m not what most people would call an “athletic person”). I haven’t had a chance to cycle as much since our kiddo was born but hope to change that this year since we bought a trailer to tow her in.

What would we most likely find you doing on the weekend or in your free time?

Spending time with my wife and daughter are certainly on the list but listening to audiobooks is something that I do all the time. I was never a big reader growing up, but over the years I have started to listen to more and more audiobooks. When I am helping around the house, working in the yard or killing time I will usually be listening to some type of  leadership, sci-fi/fantasy or an occasional nonfiction book. Fun fact, my audible account shows my total listening at five months, 20 days, three hours and 31 minutes.

What do you like most about working with Triage?

I have been doing this for six years and the thing that really means the most to me is the fact that when I work with a candidate, it doesn’t matter where they go in the nation, I am their recruiter from start to finish. They don’t jump from person to person based on where they are going for an assignment, as long as they are happy with me, we get to keep working together. This allows me to build a better relationship with my travelers, to understand their expectations and work hard to keep them happy for deciding to work with me.

Thanks, Kidd.
